Building a Partner Program to Create a New Channel for Growth
Developing the strategy, messaging, and sales enablement needed to launch and scale a B2B partner program.
Services: Partner Strategy · Go-to-Market Strategy · Messaging · Sales Enablement
The Challenge
A B2B fintech company wanted to expand its reach through financial advisors, creating a partner channel that could introduce its product to a broader network of businesses. The opportunity was clear, but the company needed a structured approach for recruiting, onboarding, and enabling partners to effectively represent the brand.
The Approach
I developed the strategy for an initial partner program pilot, working across marketing and sales to define the partner journey, clarify the value proposition, and determine what partners would need to successfully introduce the product to their clients.
Rather than building a large-scale program immediately, we focused on creating a repeatable model that could be tested with an initial cohort and refined before expansion.
The Work
The engagement included partner positioning and messaging, recruitment and onboarding communications, sales collateral, partner talk tracks, and internal sales enablement. I also helped structure the program journey from initial outreach through activation, giving both partners and the internal team a clear framework for participation.
The Outcome
The company launched its initial partner cohort with a defined strategy, messaging system, and enablement materials in place. More importantly, the pilot created a foundation the team could evaluate and refine before investing in a broader partner-channel strategy.
A Multiplying Growth Channel
Establishing the partner channel at an early stage gave the company a way to expand beyond direct acquisition, with each advisor relationship opening access to multiple potential customers as the business scaled.
